Those are the eyes of Jonathan Papelbon gracing the cover of this week’s Sports Illustrated, and who wouldn’t be at least a little intimidated by having to hit against that? Tom Verducci, who is the best baseball writer working in traditional print media by far, has the story of our uber-closer reclaiming his role, and it goes without saying that it’s a must-read. Spanning the WebPosted by Amy Derjue on 9/27/2007 at 3:24PM | No Comments

Obviously, this isn’t sitting well with Carr. According to the Herald, he’s now asking the judge to “reconsider” the ruling. I didn’t know you could do that. You think Carr said, “pretty please?” Continue reading “Just Like at the Movies, Silence is Golden” » |

Squawking of the human and avian variety: A Cantabrigian has taken his fight over his neighbor’s loud parrot to the Cambridge Licensing Commission, telling them that the bird ruined his summer with his squawking that sounds like, “a truck backing up, a broken smoke alarm or a high-pitched ‘koo-kee.” That actually sounds like our apartment building. Horse races are healing: State Supreme Court Justice Ernest Murphy has been coping with his post-traumatic stress disorder by gambling at a horse track in Saratoga Springs. We’re just disappointed he didn’t spend his taxpayer-paid salary at Massachusetts’ horse tracks. [
