Andrew Meyer, the 21-year-old University of Florida student, who gained a small measure of notoriety, or infamy, with his, ‘Don’t Tase me bro!’ incident at a John Kerry appearance in Gainesville, will not be charged, and will instead accept voluntary probation.
Meyer claims that the odd exchange was not a stunt, and that the (ha!) communication major, “went there to ask an important question. The question of voter disenfranchisement in America cuts to the heart of our democracy, and my failure to act calmly resulted in this important town forum ending without the discourse intended.” (Check out the YouTube clip here)
