Poynter Online reports that Globe staffer Tania deLuzuriaga has left the paper after she allegedly had an affair with a high-ranking school official she covered at her previous job in Miami.
She didn’t really have much of a choice after some steamy emails between her and now Miami-Dade school superintendent Alberto Carvalho surfaced. But here’s the real kicker.
The imbroglio did not prevent Carvalho from being promoted to Miami-Dade schools superintendent. He started his new job earlier this month.
So the married guy who was involved in the scandal gets promoted, and deLuzuriaga resigns? Nice double standard there.
