Mitt Romney Takes a 168-hour Cruise

1225725527When he’s not busy sabotaging Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney is still keeping a full schedule. He’s happily welcoming yet another grandkid into the world, little old ladies at John McCain rallies beg him to run if the Arizona senator loses tomorrow, and Romney is also working the lecture circuit.

Next week, Romney will be a speaker at The National Review Cruise. Nothing recharges the batteries from the long election cycle like some virgin daiquiris!

The conservative magazine hosts these trips every year. Interestingly, last year’s cruise was in Alaska. So that’s how the party became more familiar with Palin.

The 2008 cruise will be in a much warmer climate, puttering around the U.S. Virgin Islands, Turks and Caicos, and Puerto Rico. While there’s no word on what Mitt will be talking about, it does sound like quite the good time.

The cruise will include cocktail receptions, evening cigar and cognac smokers, dinners together, group excursions, and seminar sessions. In addition to all the wonderful activities aboard the msEurodam and in port, this exclusive National Review event includes: Moderated panel sessions featuring our esteemed guest speakers, along with plenty of passenger Q&A. [And] plenty of chances to meet, schmooze and enjoy personal interaction with our special guest speakers.

Does “enjoy[ing] personal interaction” mean a shirtless Mitt sighting? Because that’s totally worth $6,000.

If you’d like an insider’s view of the National Review Cruise, check out this article that appeared in The New Republic last year. The Love Boat, it ain’t.
