Economic Crunch Hits Boston Daily
With each passing day, it becomes more and more obvious that the people in charge of our complicated economic instruments had no earthly idea the malevolent forces they were about to unleash on an unsuspecting populace. Or if they did, they simply didn’t care.
That’s all well and good in the abstract, but today the economic downturn hit us where we live and we were forced to lay off the lovely and talented Amy Derjue. What does this mean? We’ll try to make sense of it after the jump.
1. Will Boston Daily continue? Yes. We’ll continue bringing the funk and trying to keep politicians, competing news outlets, and the MBTA on their collective toes. Tipsters please hit me here.
2. Does this suck? Incredibly.
3. I miss Amy, where can I get my Derjue fix? On her own blog, Pasquinade.
On a personal note, it goes without saying that we can’t possibly thank Amy enough for all of her hard work, dedication, and inspired work over the last year and a half. If you need us, we’ll be crying in our Mitt mitt.

Amy is terrific, and it’s a shame she’s been let go. Here’s hoping she winds up on someone’s payroll soon.

Where the heck am I going to get snarky commentary about local tv news hotties like Francis Rivera?? Damn it.

Very very sad news for those of us who read your site…… and a very bad decision I think by you folks. Someday when she is writing more for someone else – and doing it more famously – Boston Daily will look bad sadly on this day.
